Weekdays 9:30 am
Think you might have a good idea for a
radio program? Put your peace & justice
message on FM radio for thousands to hear with our daily community
access segment. Or tune in every day to connect with yet another aspect of what's happening in Houston.
KPFT has immediate openings for programming on its HD3/web streaming grid on Mondays (1-5 p.m.), Tuesdays (11 a.m.-5 p.m.) and Fridays (1-3 p.m.).
Our HD3/web streaming channel is KPFT's pioneering schedule offered to online listeners and owners of HD Radios. As the only Pacifica radio station broadcasting in HD, KPFT features for HD Radio owners our regular FM stream with fuller sound on HD1, Rice Radio on HD2 and local programming on HD3. Don't own an HD Radio? No problem. KPFT's web player gives listeners access to programming on HD3.
Throughout the day we air short announcements that help our listeners find out about events, community resources, or issues affecting the health and safety of the public. Typically 60 seconds, these PSAs must be non-commercial in nature and consistent with the overall mission of KPFT and the Pacifica Foundation.
Houston's diverse communities represent more than the cardboard capitalist consumer the system would have us become. We simply refuse to give up fighting on issues important to us and our future. If you're not involved, the first step towards change is showing up and adding your efforts. Let's all come together and make waves! If you are organizing a progressive or creative event you don't see listed here, submit it by emailing our Calendar Curator!
